Harris Boric Acid Roach Powder does multi-tasking. It not only kills the cockroaches but it is also effective for silverfish, bugs and ants.
Unlike bait gels, it comes in the form of white powder that has to be sprinkled on the sites where roaches are seen.
Harris Boric Acid Roach Powder With Lure, 16 oz Review
Harris Boric Acid Roach Powder takes 72 hours to kill the pest which is infected by it.
The time, required may be lessor as compared to previous alternates, but product is effective at the same level.
Further, it is useful not for roaches but for managing other pests as well. But level of effectiveness depends upon whether the target has come in contact with powder or not.
An important feature is the applicator like bottle, which is tightly sealed and provides an ease of application by sprinkling the powder. Such strong packaging makes the product durable and effective in a long run.
The bottle has a puffer, which is aided by extended straw. Such arrangement makes it easy to spray the powder on areas which are generally not accessible.
Boric Acid may have a slow reaction mechanism, but it works in favour of the persons who hate roaches and other pests.
Harris Boric Acid Roach Powder is registered with Environmental Protection Agency (No. 3-10) for use in homes that have children and pets.
The product is available on Amazon and has many differing reviews. But the difference lied in mechanism of use.
Users were happy enough in terms of the effectiveness.
Most of them applied the powder according to instructions, or briefly, they used proactive approach. But there were also those, who used in boric acid powder in a defensive manner, like sprayed it only upon the roaches that were in sight.
My Experience with Harris Boric Acid Roach Powder
I was definitely looking for a durable solution to resolve this roach infestation issue. But at the same times, I was not in a mood to try everything that had the word “acid” in its suffix.
At the same times, I was familiar with fact that edible acids like baking soda was much effective in getting rid of ants. So, I decided upon to try this Harris Boric Acid.
If I make comparison of this acidic powder with gel baits and sticky baits, then its action of mechanism is much different. Its uniqueness is that it has a puffer with straw, hence it goes in cervices and hidings where applying the gel and sticky roach killers is not possible.
As I had to deal with massive infestation, so I sprinkled the powder all the hidings and places where roaches could have been.
What I observed was that powder had ability of getting adhered to the wings of roaches. Further, roaches fell into trap also by ingestions. It took me one and half day to observe the corpses of roaches that I intended to see.
Harris Boric Acid indeed showed its effectiveness, but it didn’t offer an evidence of spontaneous mechanism, as it was the case with its competitors. I don’t think from my experience, that boric acid powder does enough to attract the roaches and act as bait.
But still, it seems to be effective where infestation is at smaller level, or roaches have safe heavens in the hidings or other such inaccessible places.
Things I Liked
- I used it just to kill roaches, but I was able to get rid of bugs and other insects as well. Such multi- tasking is really beneficial in long run.
- The powder is easy to apply in cervices and hidings. Accordingly, it is possible to kill roaches, which are difficult to target otherwise.
- It is very much effective in term of its impact. Even if a healthy roach comes in contact with a corpse, then he is likely to catch the affect and die soon.
- Harris Boric Acid Roach Powder is said to be safe with pets and children. But still, the fact that it is acid, urges users to take extra precaution.
- It is effective for users who have to deal with target oriented places.
Things I Didn’t Like
- Harris Boric Acid doesn’t act as bait. In fact, I don’t like the word lure in it, which seems useless.
- The powder takes time in being effective as compared to its competitors.
Harris Boric Acid Roach Powder is an effective solution for dealing with roaches which are present in hidden corners of the buildings.
Slow mechanism of the action is not a big deal at all, because infected roaches which are still alive can infect more of their fellows. Hence, product can achieve its target of killing more roaches.
